AMIDA co-founder and creative director Matthieu Allègre sees the brand not as a heritage archive but as a way to pick up where AMIDA left off.
AMIDA today introduces the Digitrend OSII Black, limited to 150 pieces worldwide. It carries on from the brand’s 1976 original and takes the OSII concept a step further.
The metal shell gives way to a hood machined from a single block of sapphire, letting light reach the jumping-hour module inside. For the first time, the display is fully legible in the dark: its Super-LumiNova indices charge through the sapphire, joined by luminous accents on a new steel internal framework.
The hours jump and the minutes scroll, driven by an automatic movement built around AMIDA’s own module. On the strap, an orange lining carries the words “from 1976 with love”.
“We do not look back to copy the past. We look back to resume the work,” says Allègre.
It is less a revival than an unfinished sentence from 1976, finished now.
