Armin Strom celebrates 15 years as a fully integrated manufacture

Serge Michel and Claude Greisler hung out in Mr Armin Strom’s workshop as eight-year-olds, then took over the brand that bears his name 15 years ago.

Armin Strom today celebrates 15 years as a fully integrated manufacture. Since 2009, the two childhood friends have built up its independent manufacture in Biel/Bienne, with a team of 38 that includes 22 watchmakers.

The work has produced 17 brand-unique calibres in three collections: System 78, Resonance and “Masterpiece”. Milestones run from the One Week in 2010 and a first in-house tourbillon in 2012 to the Orbit in 2022.

Armin Strom says 97% of its movement components are developed, made and finished in-house, and every watch is assembled twice before it leaves the manufacture.

“We have a lot of innovations up our sleeve, some to be presented in 2024. We are ready to dedicate another 15 years to the science of movement,” says Claude Greisler.

The brand says the anniversary also looks ahead: a new milestone watch will follow at Geneva Watch Days on 29 August 2024.
