In 1665, Christiaan Huygens observed two pendulum clocks synchronising. With the Mirrored Force Resonance Zeitgeist 1665 3N, Armin Strom imagines what a resonance wristwatch might have looked like centuries ago, if watchmakers had known then what we know now.
This time the answer is gold. The mainplate and bridges are coloured in 3N yellow gold and given a matt finish, set against a black vernis laqué poli dial. Hand-bevelled and polished edges, black-polished screws, perlage and circular graining carry the hand-finishing, and the skeletonised mainplate leaves the resonance mechanism almost suspended within the movement.

Inside, the in-house calibre ARF21 runs two independent regulating systems. They transmit their vibrations through Armin Strom’s patented resonance clutch, so the balance wheels synchronise, and the brand says the system is engineered to keep that synchronisation on the wrist. A twin-seconds flyback resets both seconds hands at once.
Heat-blued stainless steel hands, made and finished by Armin Strom, complete a 43mm stainless steel case on a dark grey Alcantara strap. The edition is limited to 25 pieces, each case back engraved “1 out of 25”.
