Ulysse Nardin introduces the Diver [AIR]

Ulysse Nardin builds the Diver [AIR] from recycled titanium, fishing-net fabric and upcycled carbon fibre, calling it the lightest mechanical dive watch it has ever made.

Ulysse Nardin today introduces the Diver [AIR], weighing under 52 grams with its strap and under 46 grams without it. The middle case and the movement are both 90% recycled titanium, a first for the brand.

The bezel is CarbonFoil, cut entirely from upcycled carbon fibre, and the case sides are Nylo®-Foil, woven from recycled fishing nets and carbon fibre offcuts. The 44mm case is water resistant to 200 metres, its skeleton dial reading in black indexes and hands with white Superluminova®.

The new UN-374 calibre weighs just 7 grams, with a flying barrel and bridges barely millimetres wide. Its triangulated design still withstands a 5,000g impact, Ulysse Nardin says, even though the case is 80% air. Ulysse Nardin frames the watch with its 1876 family motto: “If it’s possible, it’s done. If it’s impossible, it will be done.”
