URWERK introduces the UR-101 Diamond Sky
Among the one-of-a-kind watches URWERK keeps in its workshop is one that slid time across a 180-degree arc beneath a diamond-studded sky.
URWERK today introduces the UR-101 Diamond Sky, a limited edition of 25 pieces that revives that little-known watch. It descends directly from the first URWERK creations, presented in 1997.

Two satellites carry the wandering hours from left to right, from sunrise to sunset. The steel case above them is engraved with a geometric network like an abstract constellation, and every intersection holds a diamond. In all, 214 diamonds total 1.63 carats.
The case measures 41mm across and 9.33mm thick, topped with a glareproofed, metallised sapphire crystal, and the self-winding calibre UR-1.01V has 48 hours of power reserve.
“The UR-101 is our starting point,” says Felix Baumgartner, URWERK co-founder and master-watchmaker. Martin Frei, co-founder and artistic director, says the hexagonal arrangement of the diamonds brings balance to the dial, like stars in the night.
