URWERK gave its bronze case scales to touch, not just to see, and let Martin Frei describe the metal as something almost alive.
URWERK today introduces the UR-101 T-Rex, limited to 100 pieces. It is the third URWERK model to receive the T-Rex treatment, after the UR-105 and the UR-100.

Guilloché scales cover the whole 41mm bronze case, not just the dial, so the texture continues over the bezel, sides and lugs. The case sits higher at 12 o’clock than at 7, a shape URWERK says nods to the Millennium Falcon. The bronze is oxidised then brushed, and will darken with time without turning green.
Two wandering-hour satellites sweep a 180-degree minute track, a layout close to URWERK’s earliest watches. “It reacts to the touch. It is alive. It re-oxidises as soon as it is scratched,” says Martin Frei, URWERK’s co-founder and artistic director. Inside is the self-winding calibre UR-1.01V, with 48 hours of power reserve.

Over time, the bronze keeps a record of every scratch, healing over each one in its own colour.
