Red gold gives the LM101 its deepest colours: a royal blue dial plate under the high-domed sapphire, dark NAC-finished bridges around it, and the warm 5N gold of the case framing both.
The reason to look is the balance. At 14 mm it swings above everything on two arches, with four traditional regulating screws on its rim and a ©Straumann double hairspring. Below it, two white enamel sub-dials keep the hours and minutes at 2 o’clock and the power reserve at 6.
MB&F developed the movement entirely in-house, with Kari Voutilainen setting the standard for its finishing. It is wound by hand and runs about 45 hours. The case is 18-carat 5N red gold, 40 mm across and 16 mm high, water resistant to 3 ATM, on brown calf leather.
