Most Big Pilots are black or blue. The Mojave Desert is the colour of the ground at the U.S. Navy's test range there: a sand-coloured ceramic case, a dark brown dial, and sand-coloured hands and lume to match.
The ceramic is paired with a titanium caseback and a screw-in crown, and a soft-iron inner case guards the movement against magnetic fields. At 46 mm wide and 14.6 mm thick, it wears as large as the name says. Limited to 250 pieces.
Inside is IWC's own calibre 52110, wound by the Pellaton system, with a 7-day power reserve shown on the dial, plus the date and a hacking seconds hand. Water resistant to 6 bar.
It comes on a beige rubber strap with a textile inlay, 22 mm at the lugs.
