The watch

Black and gold is the most formal way to have twenty-four clocks dance on your wall. The panel stays dark and quiet; the 22-karat gold-plated hands do all the moving, sweeping through patterns before lining up to write the time in digits.

The black mineral composite housing is hand-assembled at the maker's Stockholm studio. Pick Active for ten choreographies, Medium for five calmer ones, or Quiet for the time alone. The work is now held by the Vitra Design Museum and the Musée International d'Horlogerie, among others.

Mains powered, on stepper motors first built for sports car and aircraft dashboards. Limited to 250 pieces, each numbered on the back with a studio-signed certificate.
