A familiar G-SHOCK silhouette filtered through a distinctly Japanese lens. The DW-5600RGM-1DR takes the classic square architecture and layers it with subtle origami references, from folded-line graphics across the bezel and strap to a textured finish inspired by traditional washi paper. A crane motif appears on the case back and LED backlight — a restrained detail rather than a headline feature.

Built in Japan and housed in the original 5600 form, the watch retains the fundamentals that made the platform enduring: shock resistance, 200-metre water resistance, and a highly legible digital display. The bio-based resin case and strap introduce a more considered material approach without altering the watch’s utilitarian character.

This is less about reinvention and more about refinement — a cultural reinterpretation of one of G-SHOCK’s most recognisable references.
