Minerva Box is a full grain cowhide that is offered in striking hues. As a naturally tumbled leather, its surface is littered with non-uniform variations of pebbled textures. These features add personality and depth to the final product, not to mention the promise of a rich patina with time and wear.
Every strap is saddle stitched by hand by our leather artisans. Unlike lock stitch created by machines, a saddle stitch is more durable as it is made of two independent stitches that forms a knot at every stitch. Linen thread in 0.35mm thickness was selected for a fine and natural weave.
The straps are lined with Zermatt leather from Haas tannery, specially developed for use as a lining material. It is soft to the touch and comfortable even after hours of wear. The leather is water- and sweat-resistant and works well even in hot and humid climate such as Singapore.
Minerva Box leather comes from Badalassi Carlo tannery from Italy, which also makes many popular leather articles such as Pueblo and Waxy. It has a beautiful naturally pebbled surface texture that comes as a result of the tanning process, giving it a lot of character and depth.
