We chose it for the dial, which takes far longer to stop looking at than to read. The orange stripes are guilloché cut by hand, the regulator’s wheels sit on top in plain sight, and the retrograde seconds flick back once a minute. It is one of 50, and very hard to wear quietly.PRJKT8
The stripes are cut, not printed. The lower level of the Tiger’s dial is orange and guilloched by hand in a pattern that follows a tiger’s coat, part of a 42-part dial built on two levels.
Above it, skeletonised train-wheel bridges are screwed onto the dial, so the regulator’s wheels turn in the open. The hours sit off-centre at 12:00 under a funnel-shaped aperture, the minutes come from the centre, and the seconds run along an arc at 6:00 before flying back.
The automatic calibre C.301 has a galvanic black skeletonised rotor and a 42-hour power reserve. The steel case is 44 mm by 13.35 mm, water resistant to 100 m, on Cordura. Limited to 50 pieces.
