We chose it for the way it moves without moving. The hand-cut guilloché rays fan out from the small seconds at 4:30, so the night blue dial changes with every turn of the wrist. Underneath is Czapek’s own micro-rotor calibre, and at 10.8 mm it slips under a shirt cuff.PRJKT8
The sun rises at 4:30 on this dial, which suits a night blue watch. Czapek treats the small seconds as the sun and sends guilloché rays out from it across the whole face.
The pattern is cut by hand on an engine-turning machine, in partnership with Metalem, in Czapek’s secret dial alloy. Because the rays fan from one corner rather than the centre, each turn of the wrist lights a different part of the blue.
The 38 mm steel case is 10.8 mm thick and water resistant to 50 m. Inside is the in-house SXH5.1, wound by a recycled platinum micro-rotor, with a 60-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback.
On dark blue nubuck, or a steel Milanese mesh bracelet.
