Promenade L’Écume des Jours

The Promenade L’Écume des Jours turns Czapek’s Goutte d’Eau dial into a layered study of music and water. Inspired by Boris Vian’s novel, its blue enamel base is framed by a pearled mother-of-pearl ring resembling piano keys, with each black key painted by hand. At 4:30, a laser-worked jade disc forms the seconds track beneath a miniature-painted titanium water lily hand. The result is intricate but controlled, allowing each material to register clearly.

Inside the 38 mm stainless steel case is Czapek’s automatic SXH5.1 manufacture calibre. Its recycled 950 platinum micro-rotor winds a single barrel delivering 60 hours of power reserve, while a variable-inertia balance with four gold inertia blocks runs at 4 Hz. Seven skeletonised bridges reference François Czapek’s nineteenth-century pocket watches, finished with sandblasted black surfaces, bevelled angles and straight-grained sides. Presented on dark blue nubuck and limited to 18 pieces.
