The PRW-B1000-1DR takes its square bezel from El Capitan, the granite wall in Yosemite, and the hand on its inset dial is shaped like a climber's piton.
It sets its time two ways: by Bluetooth from your phone, or by Multi Band 6 radio signal once you are well past phone signal. The Triple Sensor reads direction, air pressure, altitude and temperature, and the app adds altitude correction and a Location Indicator that points towards your destination.
The case is flame-resistant bio-based resin and the strap is reinforced with cellulose nanofibre, a material made from wood. Tough Solar charges even from weak indoor light, for about 6 months of running, or 24 with power saving. A tilt of the wrist switches on the double LED, the large buttons work in gloves, and it is water resistant to 100 m.
