Waxed canvas Chunky Straps

Waxed canvas is a heavy-duty, dyed cotton fabric created using a plain weave and stuffed with paraffin wax. Because of its wax coating, this canvas will patina beautifully when it is folded, scratched or scuffed, creating a rich, rugged look. Like a full grain leather, waxed canvas looks better with age and wear!

Every strap is saddle stitched by hand by our leather artisans. Unlike lock stitch created by machines, a saddle stitch is more durable as it is made of two independent stitches that forms a knot at every stitch. Linen thread in 0.35mm thickness was selected for a fine and natural weave.

Our edges are finished with multiple layers of edge paint to seal the raw edges. The edges are sanded and edge paint is applied. After the first layer of edge paint has dried, another round of sanding and another layer of edge paint is applied. This process repeats until the edge paint is smooth and uniform.
