The Chronoswiss Opus, the skeleton chronograph first made in 1995, turns 30, and the Opus Dakar takes it into the colours of the desert.
Chronoswiss today introduces the Opus Dakar, part of the Opus 30th Anniversary Collection. The brand says its name comes from the warm tonal palette of the region.

The 41mm case is Grade 5 titanium, built from 23 parts, with Chronoswiss’s patented Autobloc screw-in lugs. The skeletonised brown dial is CVD-coated, and a sand-coloured nubuck strap completes the palette. The onion crown and knurled bezel of the original Opus remain.
Inside is the automatic Caliber C.741S, fully skeletonised and finished in galvanic black. Central chronograph seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, the date and small seconds all sit within the open-worked layout, so every function stays in view. Its power reserve is approximately 46 hours.
In the brand’s words, this is not a watch that shouts. It reads instead, gear by gear, like a small machine at rest.
