Copernicus 0307

The Copernicus tells the time the way the sky does: planets going round the Sun.

The dial is aventurine, a stone that glitters like a night sky, with a circle of agate at the centre for the Sun. The hands are shaped as planets, so you read the time from where each sits against the Sun and against the other. It is slower than a glance at an ordinary dial, which is rather the point.

The 39.5 mm steel case is 15.78 mm thick, with sapphire over the stones, a synthetic ruby inside the crown and 5 ATM water resistance. Raketa's automatic calibre 2615, made in Saint Petersburg, gives 40 hours of power reserve and shows through the mineral crystal caseback.

It comes on a stainless steel bracelet, 22 mm at the lugs.
