Legacy Machine: Split Escapement Evo
Description
The name is the mechanism. The balance staff runs right through the movement, so the 14 mm balance wheel floats on its own above the dial while the rest of the escapement works on the far side.
This is the EVO version, in Grade 5 titanium with no bezel. The crown screws down and sits at 4:30, and a FlexRing suspends the movement inside the case to soak up knocks. Water resistant to 80 m.
The ice blue base plate carries grey sub-dials for the time, the date and the power reserve, with Super-LumiNova on the numerals and hands. A small push-button beside the date sets it quickly. Hand-wound from two barrels, 72 hours, in a 44 mm case.
