Digitrend: Take-off Edition
Description
Back to the future. 2024 marks the great comeback of AMIDA’s Digitrend: reimagined, refined, modernized and perfected through the deep commitment of a team of enthusiasts.
Founded in 1925 by Joseph Zwahlen in Grenchen and later relocated to Montreux by Ernest Triebold in 1949, AMIDA has been at the forefront of watchmaking innovation.
AMIDA stood out by adopting modern pin-lever movements with ‘Rosskopf’ escapements, making high-quality watches affordable and competitive through the early 1970s.
The vertical display was perfect for drivers, allowing them to read the time without taking their hands off the wheel. This design made it a favorite among both car enthusiasts and astronauts.
With an in-house developed module and unique dual-disc construction, the modern movement offers jumping hours for exceptional efficiency. The optical illusion created by a crystal prism projects the time vertically, a patented feature since 1973.
The sleek, car body-style case is machined from 316L stainless steel, refined for modern aesthetics and improved finishes, enhancing its fluid profile.
Preorders are now open! Delivery at the end of year.
