Seconde Majeure (Delivery End of December)

Baltic makes watches that look back; SpaceOne makes watches that look up. The Seconde Majeure is what came of the two meeting, through a friendship and a jumping-hour module by independent watchmaker Théo Auffret.

Hands give way to sapphire discs: hours at the top, minutes at the bottom, joined by a crosshair, while a long seconds hand sweeps over it all and gives the watch its name. Beneath them, the dial is cut from a single piece of maillechort, a warm nickel silver that also carries the module. It comes brushed, or charbonné: Auffret's charcoal finish from old precision clocks, done by hand.

The movement is a Soprod P024 automatic with a 42-hour power reserve. The 904L stainless steel case is 38.5 mm across and 12.3 mm thick, water resistant to 50 m, and each one is numbered on the caseback. It wears a beige Alcantara® strap by Delugs.
