UR-150 Blue Scorpion
Description
URWERK has never played by the rules — and the UR-150 Blue Scorpion proves why. Beneath its domed sapphire crystal, a mechanical performance unfolds: three hour satellites orbit on a flying carousel, while a retrograde hand sweeps across a 240° arc. At the top of each hour, the hand snaps back in a hundredth of a second as the satellites pivot and rotate, reshuffling the hours in a flash of controlled chaos.
This “satellite complication” represents a new chapter of kinetic art from URWERK. Inspired by automatons, the mechanism combines cam-and-rack precision with a speed governor, ensuring perfect choreography at every jump. Each satellite is tilted at 10° toward the wearer for optimal legibility — a detail that complicates engineering but defines URWERK’s relentless pursuit of clarity.
The UR-150 Blue Scorpion is both bold and refined: its fluid steel and titanium case flows seamlessly into a hybrid rubber strap, sculpted for comfort. The movement, calibre UR-50.01, offers automatic winding with twin turbines, 43 hours of power reserve, and hand-finished components enhanced with blue ALD coating and Super-LumiNova® details. Produced in a 50-piece limited edition, it is as rare as it is radical.
