Seiko - Ananta Ref #5R86-0AL0

Ananta was Seiko's katana-inspired range: sharp edges, curved flanks and polished planes, with the hands shaped like blades. This steel chronograph adds a second time zone to the mix.

The movement is what sets it apart. Calibre 5R86 is Spring Drive: a mainspring powers it, but a quartz-regulated glide wheel sets the pace, so the seconds hand sweeps without ticking. It runs the chronograph, the date and a GMT hand, with 72 hours of power reserve.

The case is 46 mm of steel and water resistant to 100 m. A big watch with a sharp edge, in the best sense. It comes with its box.
