Supernova

The Supernova marks both an ending and a beginning for Stepan Sarpaneva. Named after the cosmic explosion that births new stars, this timepiece represents a rebirth for the independent Finnish watchmaker.

Crafted in high-grade Finnish Outokumpu stainless steel, the 40 mm case houses a dial inspired by celestial forces — from the intricate Northern Stars design to stone dial variations that evoke the calm aftermath of a cosmic blast. At its heart lies Sarpaneva’s iconic Moonface, half-smiling and half-scowling, meticulously engraved and hand-finished in red, white, or yellow gold.

Inside beats a modified Soprod A10 calibre, visible through the sapphire caseback. The movement features a turbine-style winding mass, automatic winding, and a 42-hour power reserve. Offered in time-only or with phases of the moon, the Supernova embodies both simplicity and cosmic depth.

From the finely hand-finished steel hands to the 3D-relief crown and the sculptural caseback, the Supernova is a watch that carries the energy of the universe — and the singular vision of one of independent watchmaking’s most uncompromising voices.
