We chose it because it is the purest way to show off a tourbillon: no logo, no markers, just the cage spinning over a dial that swallows light. In the boutique, people lean in to find the surface of the dial and never quite do. Underneath, the HMC 805 runs for at least 3 days.PRJKT8
On a Vantablack® dial there is nothing to look at except the tourbillon. No logo, no markers, just two leaf-shaped hands and a one-minute flying tourbillon turning over what looks like an open hole.
The coating is a forest of carbon nanotubes that holds on to 99.965% of the light, so the eye finds no surface to rest on. The tourbillon cage catches what little light is left.
Inside is the automatic HMC 805, which pairs the flying tourbillon with Moser’s double hairspring and runs for at least 3 days. The 40 mm steel case is water resistant to 30 m, on black alligator leather with a folding clasp.
