Horological Machine N°9 'Sapphire Vision' Yellow Gold
Description
First introduced in 2018, the HM9 ‘Flow’ was inspired by the aerodynamic forms of 1940s and 50s automotive and aviation design. With the HM9 Sapphire Vision, MB&F takes that concept to its extreme — removing the metal case almost entirely and replacing it with a fully transparent sapphire crystal shell.
Inside, the movement appears to float. Two independent balance wheels beat in unison, connected by a planetary differential that averages their rates for improved stability. Beneath them, dual spherical propellers spin continuously, adding kinetic theatre to an already dramatic architecture. The entire movement is mounted using shock-absorbing helicoidal springs, linking it softly to the case despite the technical complexity.
In 2023, two new Sapphire Vision editions were introduced: white gold with a blue PVD engine, and yellow gold with a green PVD engine. Each version is limited to just five pieces, making the HM9-SV not only one of MB&F’s most visually arresting Machines, but also among its rarest.
