Legacy Machine Perpetual Chromatic Purple Sapphire

The MB&F LM Perpetual Chromatic Purple Sapphire Edition brings a more eccentric kind of elegance to one of MB&F’s most celebrated machines.

The 44 mm case is crafted in 18k white gold and framed by 48 baguette-cut purple sapphires, all hand-set by STG Création in Geneva. The effect is vivid without becoming decorative for decoration’s sake. It feels like MB&F found a way to make the LM Perpetual look even more like a machine from another timeline.

At the centre is Stephen McDonnell’s award-winning perpetual calendar calibre, built from the ground up for MB&F. Its mechanical processor system replaces the traditional grand levier and calculates each month from a 28-day base, adding extra days only when required. The result is a perpetual calendar designed to avoid the usual skipping, jamming, and adjustment drama of more conventional systems.

Purple PVD-treated hands mirror the gemstone bezel, giving the whole watch a quietly strange, beautifully controlled chromatic signature.
