The watch

The Orbit Purple wears black: a DLC-coated steel case, a black textile strap and, in the middle, a fumé dial that starts vivid purple at the centre and darkens to black at the edge. The date hand and the bezel’s date numerals are the same purple.

Most dates change whether you need them or not; this one waits to be asked. A press at 10 o’clock swings the hand to today’s date on the ceramic bezel, and a second press sends it back to 12 o’clock. Armin Strom calls it the first on-demand pointer date on a bezel.

The column-wheel calibre ASS20 winds through a micro-rotor, beats at 3.5 Hz and runs 72 hours on its patented equal force barrel. The case is 43.4 mm by 12.6 mm, water resistant to 5 ATM, with a black DLC pin buckle. Limited to 20 pieces.
