Salmon is not the obvious colour for a dive watch, which is the appeal. The frosted salmon dial takes black print and blue two-tone Sarpaneva hands.
It’s the Vetehinen MKII, named after Finland’s mythical water spirit and the wartime submarine that carried the name. The second version is slimmer, at 11.45 mm, closes with a solid steel caseback and keeps the gear-edged one-way bezel and screw-down Sarpaneva crown.
A modified Swiss Soprod A10 drives the central seconds: automatic, 42 hours of power reserve. The 42 mm case is Finnish Outokumpu steel, water resistant to 300 m. Limited to 26 pieces and hand-assembled in Helsinki, on black Nordic elk with a blue Grassbay strap to swap in.
