Starfleet Explorer is a space station for the desk, and on this edition its three little spacecraft are lacquered green, with hands to match.
The time reads from the top down. The upper dome turns once an hour, and a fixed curved opening in it shows the minutes; below, a hand points to the hours on a disc that stays still. Around the movement, the spacecraft orbit once every five minutes, which is about how long it takes a guest to stop watching them.
L'Epée 1839 makes the movement in-house: 95 parts, 11 jewels, 2.5 Hz and 8 days from one barrel, wound and set with a double-ended key. The steel station is 16.5 cm across and weighs 0.7 kg. Limited to 99 pieces in each colour.
