Louis Erard and watchmaker Konstantin Chaykin bring back their frog-faced regulator, and this time let colour change its mood.
Louis Erard today introduces the Unfrogettable in Turquoise and Brown, each limited to 178 pieces. The partnership with Chaykin dates from 2023.
The horizontal regulator makes the face: hours turn at 9 o’clock and seconds at 3 o’clock as two eyes, with an arrow-shaped minute hand across the centre. Turquoise uses rhodium-toned discs; Brown has 5N-treated discs, minute hand and crown. The 40mm titanium case carries its winding crown at 12 o’clock, shaped like a royal crown.
“Turquoise is bright, electric and slightly surreal. Brown is warmer, deeper and more nocturnal,” says Manuel Emch, who leads Louis Erard. Both dials carry Louis Erard ♥ Konstantin Chaykin at 6 o’clock, a hidden love note on a strap of black Himeji Kurozan leather finished with Urushi lacquer.
The design borrows from Slavic myth, Japanese symbolism and Swiss Jura watchmaking — one face, worn in two different moods.
