Ressence introduces the TYPE 9 Jules Wittock
Jules Wittock, a Brussels artist who has drawn mazes freehand since childhood, has traced one for the dial of the Ressence TYPE 9, with a word hidden inside.
Ressence today introduces the TYPE 9 Jules Wittock, this year’s art watch and the latest in a series of collaborations that has included Shantell Martin and Alain Silberstein. It comes in Emerald Green and Black, 30 pieces each.

Each maze has one entrance, one exit and a path that spells a word. It is milled into the titanium dial and filled by hand with white lacquer and Super-LumiNova. The Emerald Green version turns purple depending on the angle.
Built on the TYPE 9, Ressence’s smallest and lightest watch, the design does away with a conventional dial. Hours and minutes are read from discs that orbit continuously, driven by the brand’s patented ROCS module and a self-winding movement.
“I like hiding things in my paintings,” says Wittock. “There’s always a mystery within the maze.”
What the word says stays between the artist and those who own the piece.
