TYPE 9 Jules Wittock Black

Jules Wittock draws his mazes freehand, each with one entrance, one exit and a route between them that spells a word. On the JWB, his maze is milled into the black titanium dial in 0.2 mm lines and filled by hand with white lacquer and Super-LumiNova.

Then Ressence sets it moving. The maze runs across both the turning minute disc and the hour satellite, so its paths break apart and rejoin all day. Only at midday and midnight do they line up and let you trace the hidden word, which stays between the artist and the owners.

The 39 mm case is black-coated Grade 5 titanium, 42 grams on its strap, with “in” and “out” engraved on the bezel. A customised ETA 2892/2 drives the ROCS 9 module, with 36 hours of reserve, wound and set at the caseback. Splash resistant only. Limited to 30 pieces.
