Description

Czapek’s Goutte d’Eau dial shows ripples spreading from a drop of water. Here the ripples are stones: 360 diamonds and 319 sapphires in several shades of blue, 679 in all, snow-set into 18-carat white gold.

Snow-setting packs stones of different sizes as close as they will go, so almost no metal shows between them. The dial takes 6 days by hand; the bezel and crown, with another 173 diamonds, take 2 more.

Under the blued hands sits the in-house SXH5.1, with a micro-rotor in recycled platinum and a 60-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback. The case is 38 mm across and 10.8 mm thick.
