Description

HM12 The Guardian Green is MB&F doing what MB&F does best: taking the idea of a watch and happily launching it into another dimension.


Created as a total horological concept, HM12 is both a wristwatch and the head of a 38.2 cm mechanical robot companion developed with L’Epée 1839. The watch itself features an in-house automatic movement with flying tourbillon, instantaneous jumping hours, trailing minutes, double-sided micro-rotor and a mechanical face shield system made from over 200 components.


The time display forms the robot’s eyes. The tourbillon becomes the brain. The battle-axe micro-rotor sits where the mouth would be. Then the watch detaches from the wrist and clips onto The Guardian, transforming from machine on the wrist to mechanical character on display.


The Green edition is limited to 12 pieces only. No reruns. No second batch. Just one very serious robot with a very unserious sense of wonder.
