The S.U.F Helsinki Vetehinen MK2 is a distinctly Finnish take on the mechanical diver, drawing its character from both the mythical Vetehinen water spirit and Finland’s WWII submarine of the same name. Its 42 mm Supra 316L/4435 stainless-steel case, sourced from Finnish manufacturer Outokumpu, pairs a gear-like unidirectional bezel with a screw-down Sarpaneva crown and 300-metre water resistance. The slimmer 11.45 mm profile gives the MK2 a more compact presence than its predecessor, while the solid steel caseback reinforces its utilitarian character. Inside, a modified Swiss Soprod A10 automatic movement runs at 4 Hz, with 42 hours of power reserve and a centre-seconds display. Sarpaneva’s signature two-tone hands, Super-LumiNova detailing and a range of distinctive dial treatments complete the design. The frosted salmon edition is limited to 26 pieces and hand-assembled in Helsinki.
