We chose it because it gives a tourbillon the backdrop it deserves. The aventurine glitters like a night sky, and the flying tourbillon turns in the middle of it with nothing on top. Underneath, the HMC 804 adds Moser’s double hairspring and 72 hours of reserve. Small fireworks, worn quietly.PRJKT8
The dial is aventurine: a man-made glass with fine shards of metal caught inside, so it glitters like a clear night sky. Against it, a one-minute flying tourbillon turns with no bridge above it.
Everything else is kept spare. Hours, minutes and the tourbillon are all the dial shows, in a 40 mm steel case.
Inside is the automatic HMC 804. Besides the tourbillon, it carries Moser’s patented double hairspring: two identical hairsprings that compensate for each other’s positional errors. It runs for 72 hours and is water resistant to 30 m, on an alligator strap.
A tourbillon is there to cancel out gravity; this one gets a whole sky to do it in.
