We chose it for the way it is built the other way round: one pusher on the left starts, stops and resets the chronograph, with the crown beside it. Then the grey dial moves in the light, and colour rises through it from the baseplate below.PRJKT8
The Phoenix is MING’s monopusher chronograph for its core collection, and it is built the other way round: the crown and the single pusher sit on the left side of the case.
Under a deeply dished grey dial, radial cut-outs show a baseplate in the colour-shifting coating first seen on the 57.04 Iris, so colour appears through the grey as the light moves. Everything glows: the indices are cut into the top crystal and filled with MING Polar White, and the hands and the chronograph disc carry Super-LumiNova X1.
The 40 mm steel case needs nine separate pieces for its stepped lugs alone, yet it is water resistant to 100 m. Inside is the hand-wound Sellita for MING SW562.M1, with an anthracite three-quarter plate and about 60 hours of reserve. On grey FKM rubber or MING’s titanium Polymesh.
